CRGCL Blog: Submission Guidelines
Last Updated: June 13, 2026
The Centre for Research and Governance on Cyber Law (CRGCL) invites submissions for its blog on cyber law, technology policy, and digital governance. We accept submissions on a rolling basis.
1. General Guidelines
Thematic Focus: Your article must address contemporary legal and policy issues in cyber law (e.g., data protection, AI regulation, intermediary liability, digital rights).
Analytical Approach: Write analytically. Do not simply describe a law or a judgment. Your piece must contain a clear central argument and contribute a new perspective to existing literature.
Title Limit: Keep your title under 10 words. We strictly prohibit the use of AI-generated titles.
Word Limit: Keep your submission between 800 and 1,500 words. We accept deep-dive explainers up to 2,000 words. We will reject pieces that exceed this limit unless previously approved by the editorial board.
Originality: Your submission must be original and unpublished. You cannot submit it to any other forum simultaneously.
Similarity Limit: Keep similarity below 15%. We will summarily reject any piece that exceeds this limit.
No AI Tools: We strictly prohibit the use of AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Gemini, Copilot) to generate text. We will permanently ban authors who violate this rule.
Document Format: Send your file as a Word document (.doc or .docx) only. We do not accept PDFs.
Language: Write in English (UK/India spelling conventions).
2. Formatting Guidelines
Format your Word document exactly as follows before submitting to us:
Main Heading (H1): Times New Roman, Font Size 14, Bold.
Subheadings: Times New Roman, Font Size 12, Bold.
Body Text: Times New Roman, Font Size 12, Line Spacing 1.5. Justify the text.
Quotations: Use double quotes and italicise the text when quoting verbatim.
3. Citation Guidelines
Primary Rule: Embed hyperlinks directly into the text to reference judgments, statutes, treaties, or news reports. Link only to official legal databases (e.g., India Code, official court websites) or highly respected news sources. Do not link to unverified secondary platforms.
Exception for Endnotes: Use endnotes only when you cannot find a hyperlink for a source. Format endnotes according to OSCOLA (4th Edition).
Endnote Formatting: Set endnotes to Times New Roman, Font Size 10, Line Spacing 1.0, and Justified.
No Speaking Endnotes: Do not use endnotes to provide additional commentary or explanations.
4. Copyright Policy
Upon acceptance, CRGCL holds the copyright for the published content.
You retain moral rights over your work, including the right to be attributed as the original author.
You may republish your work on other platforms only if you obtain prior written permission from CRGCL and prominently acknowledge that CRGCL published it first.
5. Submission Procedure
Email your manuscript to editor@crgcl.com. Keep the subject line: ‘CRGCL Blog Submission: [Your Article Title]’.
Also, share the following details in the body of your email:
Full Name of the Author / Co-author (Maximum two authors allowed).
Current Designation or Year of Study.
Name of the University/College/Institution.
LinkedIn Profile URL(s).
A brief 2-3 sentence summary of your main argument.
6. Withdrawal Policy After First Review (Feedback)
Our editorial board invests significant time in reviewing and editing manuscripts. Therefore, we implement a strict withdrawal policy.
You cannot withdraw your manuscript after the editorial board has shared its feedback with you. By submitting your work, you commit to completing the publication process.
We will only consider withdrawal requests if you discover a fundamental error that ruins the academic integrity of the piece, or if a severe ethical concern arises.
You must submit a detailed written request explaining the situation, and the editorial board retains the final authority to deny the withdrawal or suggest an alternative arrangement.
7. Publication Timeline
We try to complete the review process within 10 to 15 days.
Do not send follow-up emails regarding the status of your piece before this period ends.
If your piece requires significant revisions, the timeline for final publication will depend on how quickly you implement the editor’s feedback.
8. Contact Information
If you have queries regarding the submission process, contact the Managing Editor at editor@crgcl.com.
